Just out of interest, do you use it a lot , has it proved to be a good piece of kit to have ?

It's the quietest generator I've ever not heard!

I've seen those generators on ebay but all the sellers i've seen so far aren't completely honest about the noise figures. The actual noise figures for that generator from the manufacturer are :
61 - 73 dB (zero load / full load) at 7m
This is still a damn sight quieter than the Focus / B&Q specials which run much loader as they're two stroke but the Kipor still can't touch the honda generators (58 dB at 7m and 25% load). The difference make not look like much but the dB scale is exponential so the honda generator would be noticeably quieter.
As with most things you really do get what you pay for. Just depends what price/noise ratio you're compfortable with.....

The link above for the Kipor generator is actually from the tools'n'stuff website which i believe is a uk distributor of Kipor genny's. The link on the actual companies website to the Kipor generator shown above is :
http://www.kipor.com/prouducts_detail.asp?info_id=237
On the companies website it gives the 61-73 dB figure so unless the distributor knows something the company producing the thing doesn't i'd believe the companies website.
Don't get me wrong, for the money i think that the Kipor is the best thing you could get and is probably an ideal compromise. It uses a modern overhead valve design which means that it's going to be a lot quiter than most other 4 stroke designs in the price range which use an ancient side valve arrangement.
But.... if money was no object i'd get the Honda.
