Sump removal and bearings jx/jr 1.6td

Well after finding a piece of metal after an oil change I'm thinking of dropping the sump to check the bearings.
Are the bearing shells easy to change in situ and where would be the best place to buy them ?
Is there anything else I should be checking/changing down there when I'm in?
Any hints, tips and advice greatly appreciated !
Thanks

Bearings,Brickwerks does them, big end bolts are single use ( VW they can be used twice but how would you know if they have been used once?!)
Main bearing bolts are reusable .
Anything else?
Good luck.

Cheers Dave friday, I'm assuming it should all come apart OK ?
Do you know if brickwerks do the single use bolts by any chance?
How robust are the oil pumps, are there any measurements to check, is it worth replacing .
Cheers

Getting the big end bolts out could/will be a problem!youll see when you get the sump off.
Brickwerks are out of stock..I got mine from " Gunzel"
Oil pump;you can check your pump with a feeler gauge!
Just be careful re-fitting the sump.
