How Windy is too Windy for MIG

Hi
I know gassless MIG welding can be done outdoors and MIG welding with gas is usually done indoors. I find gassless harder to see/messier and I have seen pictures of people gas welding outside.
So the question is - how windy is too windy?

You'll likely get a better response to that question at the Mig-welding forum:

Had to do all my welding outdoors, never experienced a problem. I guess that as long as its only a gentle breeze then I don't think you will have any trouble. You could always set up some sort of wind break to help.

You'll know because your welds will be rough and sputtery with smoky black marks around them.

Sun screens or large pieces of cardboard make good wind breaks.

+1, you also have the option of turning up the gas flow, i weld outside and and using 10lpm, didn't really experience any issue at that flow rate using argosheild, but also reckon the way i position myself when welding probably acts like a wind break as well, if its too windy it will act like a gasless mig and leave a horrible weld, had a gasless welder before and i didn't like it or get on with it as well as my gas R-tech
