What Weber is this on my 2.1??

I'm trying to fault find on this carburettor as it keeps stalling on idle.
I thought I was going to find a Pierberg 2E but instead found this so can anyone identify it?
I would like to source a rebuild kit and information on setting it up especially the idle circuit!
Many thanks,
Mike.

Looks like it's a 34 DAT.

Thanks for your help and the link, I had also come to the same conclusion.
Just Kampers used to sell this conversion but for the 1.9 DJ.
I can start researching on how to stop it stalling at idle.
It's a very intermittent fault, most of the time it idles at 900 rpm but then sometimes it sits lower and then drops off
Any help on this matter is much appreciate.

Deffo a 34 DAT as I have one on my 1.9DG:
I'd check for air leaks and first area would be the hose from vacuum advance to carb.
I bought a refurb kit from Gower & Lee and it transformed the carb. I also gave it a good clean out with Gunk. Here's my post at the top:

Thanks 300CE, I will check them out for spares.
To be honest the whole engine is a mess so everything needs going through including the vacuum hose as you mention.

As an aside, if it were me, I'd relocate that fuel filter to underneath the van, closer to the tank outlet and use fuel pipe clips instead of jubilee clips. Not a bad idea to replace the fuel lines too while you're about it. Jus sayin...

Yuk! I would just bin it. Pierburg 2e3 is still available new from VWClassic for £400 odd. Would run beautifully (if all else is in good nick).

Can you provide the item number for the VW Classic 2e3 carburettors. The only 'so called' original NEW Pierburg 2e3 carburettors that I can find are Chinese and they bear absolutely no resemblance to the genuine article. They do not have the same body, have no automatic choke feature, and no throttle actuator to deal with the automatic warming up speeds.

I'd go Pierburg route too. Maybe a second hand one and get it professionally rebuilt. Bit concerned about your fuel filter too, should be under the van. We don't want any fires do we. I had one in my engine bay too when I bought it, before these good folk advised I move it.

I'm going off the Haynes manual, it could be wrong of course.
No letter version has MT listed, A has AT. (1982 to 1985)
J and H (1985 to 1987) have a dash "-" which I assume means they were used on both types of transmission.

A to G are 2e4 versions, which have built in idle stabiliser to compensate for power steering/aircon loads.
H is the standard manual DG 2e3 spec, but unfortunately NLA.
K and L are for cyclone air filter models (for dusty regions, so not ideal for UK models).
J is the one you want. It says it's for Auto transmission, but I've fitted a couple & they work just fine on manuals.
