I got the oil pressure light flashing on my jx the other day on the way home from work. I swapped out the blue switch but then started to do a little testing between the blue and grey switches connected (or not) and not sure how to interpret the results.

Basically, regardless of which switches are wired up or not (+blue+grey / +blue-grey / -blue-grey / -blue+grey) when I turn the ignition on the oil light flashes and goes out. Then starting the engine there is no light until around 10 seconds when it starts the flash again.

Can't help thinking I should've seen a difference in the tests in some way?

I've also read the wiki and searched a few posts on the topic but before I delve into oil pressure test kits etc, I'm thinking the next spot to check is in the dash?

Any pointers welcome.

blue is normally closed with no pressure grounded to body
the flashing light before starting is to tell you this circuit works because when engine running its open
so if its flashing with no switch then my guess is the wire is grounded permanently somehow
check it with a meter

Thanks itchy, had a brain fade on the logic of this but you gote back on track. Multimeter job on the weekend it is.
