Fuel filler pipe

Hi, having just replaced the petrol tank, fuel lines, fuel filter, petrol pump and ultrasonic cleaning my pierburg carb, I am devastated to find it all blocked up again with what appears to be rust and dirt. Can only be from the metal fuel filler pipe on my 83 1.9 water cooled van which is the only part in the system I haven,t changed. Can anyone tell me if these are still available as I can,t see them advertised.

Also the new seal on the new petrol tank failed and dumped petrol all over a petrol station floor in Amsterdam !! Is it possible JK sent me a diesel seal instead of a petrol one and the petrol has eaten through it?

The metal filler neck is no longer made,
VW substituted the later plastic neck and supplied an adapter seal to fit the smaller diameter plastic neck into the larger hole of the original tank.

The seals are the same for the Diesel and petrol.

They seem to have gone unavailable recently best to source one second hand, there where considerably more vans made with the plastic one so should be easier find than a metal one.
