Changed Starter Motor, getting fast clicking

Hi All,
put a new starter motor and bush in today, went to turn the engine over and got a rapid clicking from the starter motor and it blew a fuse.
any ideas what i have done wrong?

The clicking is normally the solenoid firing.
It indicates low voltage. I'd check the connections and the ground.
Clean the housing where you put in the starter as I think it grounds via direct contact.
What starter motor did you get? Some of the cheaper Chinese ones need a fully charged battery to turn them and you may have a voltage drop from the batteries at the front.

Hi, thx for that, the battery was flat and is now charging so that probably is the issue, I will check all connections too though.

got it turning over but not started, keeps blowing fuse 7 so something amiss somewhere, will have to get local garage to look at it unless there is a member local to me that knows their electrical stuff that wouldnt mind looking at it for a fat crate of beer!!

Again, check starter cable connectors. They can get cruddy and go high resistance. Most common breakdown on a T25, next to CV bolt failure.

cleaned all the wire terminals and battery terminals but still popping fuse 7.
think it may have something to do with the lead wire so having the local garage check it out.
maddening to say the least.
