Rusty chrome hubcaps

Hi there,

I've got a set of cheap chrome hubcaps that have rusted. I thought I'd clean them up and spray them black. Any suggestions on how to prep them properly and what kind of spray to use?

The hubcaps are these ones by the way - http://www.justkampers.com/251-601-151- ... -1992.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks,
Tim.

unless you can grind them back to bare metal they will keep rusting under the paint so I would not spend too much time.
stainless 25 quid each ( well they were in january can't seem to find them now), look great

Good point. Perhaps a quick rub down, bit of vactan and then a black hammerite or something similar. And then expect to re-do them from time to time?

Obviously the stainless steel option would be better but a bit pricey. I've also got a suspicion that might get nicked anyway especially if they're nice and shiny

Thanks,
Tim.
