Hi all,
just wanted to know when you push the button in for either elec/gas/12v does the button stay in ?on mine i push it in and it comes back out which seams a bit daft to me because unless you were the on who presses the button you wouldnt know what power supply it is on

Do you have the manual?
I'm not familiar with this fridge - it sounds a bit different to the model in my van.
But reading the manual, there should be a switch for selecting the ower supply (Mains, Battery, Gas) and another which gets pressed in to light the gas when that is used to power the fridge.
The ignition switch has to be held in for up to a minute when lighting the gas as the thermo electric safety switch needs to heat up, or it will shut off the gas supply.

Here's a link to the manual if you haven't got one - http://www.westfaliat3.info/RM184EGIand ... ration.pdf

So, is the gas / electric / 12V selector switch a push in job, and not a 3 way rocker on yours?

Button should stay in and release when another selected.

But the latch can break and they won't stay in. Think there was a thread earlier in the year about someone with a fix. Seems bad luck if all three of yours have gone rather than just one button.

It is possible that the mechanism is just very dry and would benefit from a a few drops of 3 in 1 oil (WD40 is OK but doesn't last long) you might need to do a certain amount of dis-assembly to gain access.
