Hi

I am wanting to install some small speakers in the rear of my camper - so the kids can hear rather than cranking the volume up at the front!

The best route from the dash seems to be up the A pillar and into the high top (speakers are to be installed up high at the rear. (we have an Autohomes hightop conversion, if it makes any difference?) There is already various cabling running up the A pillar into the hightop.

Ant tips for getting speaker cable down through the A pillar - I am anticipating it will be a pig of a job. (or alternatively another cable route - I am a little adverse running them under flooring covering....

Hi Mike, getting the wiring down the A-pillar is no problem at all, you can get access through the interior light hole or take the head lining down and just push forward from there, it will go down eventually. The only real problem is getting it to the back of the bus, there are steel reinforcing brackets above the B and C pillars which (on my bus) had a steel plate down one side, effectively blocking off any convenient cable routes.

If your original roof is cut off at the B-pillars then you might be able to squeeze the wires through the gap.

Or run them behind dash, underneath the vehicle, running alongside existing cables using cable clips and up under back seat. Sometimes its a lot quicker.

As nearly all autohomes (CI Sprite caravans Ltd) were built on caravelle or Bus shells, you should have no problem routing up the "A" pillar and along the roof , the heated rear window and wash wipe looms go that way as does the interior lighting loom .
I popped the interior light out above the drivers seat and used a flexible stainless antenna whip to thread down and taped the wires to it and pulled it back up, then did the same from the cold air vents in the roof at the back , but you may have the cold air vent duct but no vents ( covered by carpet )
