Hi all, my van is about to go to our "jimthepainter" to get both trailing arms replaced with good used ones I have sourced. I was just wondering what to do with the ones I obtained before they are fitted?
I don't necessarily want them all shiny black, but was thinking more about external and likely more important internal rust prevention.
Ps, I (or Jim) will of course be checking the spring seats.

I'm just about to do some arms.
I plan on:
Blasting in and out
Fitting a new spring seat if necessary
Painting them with some Brantho Korrux 3in1 -
http://www.korrosionsschutz-depot.de/ro ... z-ral-9005
and then fitting new bearing (may even fit Powerflex).

I grit blasted mine and painted inside and out with epoxy primer. Then painted with Rustoleum and put a good coat of wax inside them.

Steam cleaned then acid dipped and pasivated black. Etched then 2k satin black. "pooh" load of cavity wax inside.
As has been said, spring plates and bush guide tubes as necessary.

Seeing as how they rot from the inside, cavity wax must has to be a priority, Dinitrol for mine.
