Additional coolant pump wiring

Hi folks
Finally getting around to fitting my additional coolant pump, as I seem to have traced all my coolant leaks (touch wood), and I can combine if with flushing the crud out of my system and putting fresh coolant in.
But first I need to make sense of the Horlicks left by previous owners - nothing new there!
Referring to the wiring diagrams on Synchrosport's website, and running through the various senders:-
G2 (coolant temp gauge sender) has it's yellow/red wire, and the coolant temp gauge works
G32 (coolant shortage indicator sender) has it's blue/green and brown wires,
F1 and F22 (oil pressure senders) have their yellow and blue/black wires respectively,
F95 (thermoswitch for add. coolant pump) has its brown/red wire connected, and it's brown wire snipped off
G27 (sensor for engine temp-glow plug system)(I think I'm right here - sits in the coolant flange next to F95?) Is connected to - wait for it - brown/red and red. My glow plugs indicator light always comes on regardless of engine temp, and seems to stay on a very long time - I usually get bored waiting and the van starts first time.
There is a blue/white wire blowing in the wind within reach of it, snipped off short at some time.
The coolant pump is not fitted.
My theory is that the wiring for the coolant pump which the diagram shows as brown/red and red has been fitted to G27.
My plan is to cut the wiring to G27, and reinstate the blue/white wire to G27. G27 is two pin, and I'm assuming the second pin is for an earth wire, although that isn't shown in the wiring diagram.
question one if there should be an earth wire on G27 does it matter much where it is earthed to? Also the hanging earth wire on F95 - same question?
Then I plan to splice the wires I cut off G27 back onto my pump's connector. question two how do I work out which is the positive and negative terminals on my pump?? I don't want to send the coolant in the wrong direction...
question three How do I check the circuit for the pump is operating, apart from giving the van a good hammering and seeing what happens next? I'm guessing shorting the wires on F95 would work, or conversely just unplugging it?
G2 (coolant shortage indicator sender) is shown in the wiring diagram as having a brown earth wire connected to point 6 of the diagram. question four I don't understand that part of the diagram. My plan is to check continuity between this brown earth wire and a known earth, and between the other wire and the k5 point at the front.
There is mention of there being an earth point on the left hand side of the engine bay. Where? Can't see it at all! I do have two earth crowns at the front at the left hand edge of the dash.
So, can any jx wiring experts out there put me straight?
Thanks in advance
