Replacing screws bodywork etc. Looking for sizes

Hi, just took off the sliding door panel/cover on driver side. Had to drill out the 2 self tappers as corroded.
So the question is as I need to replace these 2 and also I'm gonna go on a mission to replace as many of the rest of the corroded bodywork, lights etc fixings. I want to replace with stainless steel.
Has anyone who's done this have a list of screw sizes?
Whatever you know would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Ian

If you had to drill out the oil screws then replacements may need to be bigger.
what size hole did you drill, if you can't remember go back and see what size just pokes through the hole?

as for the other screws just remove one of each and measure up.
you can buy kits

Cheers, luckily I only drilled the heads off and managed to get rest out without damaging hole. Yeah seen the kits for the lights, was wondering if I knew sizes I could cut out the middle man.
Fingers crossed I can get rest out without drilling lol

don't suppose you will save much over the kits of screws.

I've being buying loose stainless self tappers off eBay and just replace like with like. Easy to cost the kit versus a selection. I bought a made up set of all the fastenings for my nuts and bolt Land Rover rebuild and that was in the hundreds of pounds but someone identified them and then counted them out.

Woolis do packs of 10 for a sensible price.

All T3 parts including fasteners are shown in the VW parts system ETKA, versions of which are available online and also on DVD for Windows users.

Fastener sizes are typically shown in mm. I've made use of this frequently over the years to ensure I use the correct fasteners. Personally, I don't like to see random incorrect fasteners from screwfix etc. on my van, so I prefer to order from VW to make sure I get the correct specification including finish (such as Dacromet) and tensile strength. All should be avilable from your local dealers parts department. Just get the part numbers from ETKA and away you go. Note that smaller screws etc. may come in a bag of 10 or 25 only.

(PS. Don't be tempted to use stainless fasteners, when in contact with mild steel, preferential corrosion of the steel will occur. Also stainless is not as strong HT steel, and can suffer from galling preventing easy removal.)
