Who is it that has the only tranny in the village? 2.5di

Can't remember who it is that is running a Tranny. Or any one else in the know. But.....
I am in the process of prepping a new engine for my boat replacing an old 1988 FSD F0rd based 2.5 litre but have hit a slight snag. The engine that I have sourced (2001 2.5DI from a Convoy,F0rd engine) has an oil line for the vacuum pump (rear of alternator mounted) that runs from the oil pump to the vacuum pump and returns via the side of the block - what I need to know is.... can I blank off both ends (as I have no need for vacuum and will be using a standard alternator) or is that return a vital part of the oil circulation and I have to create an oil line? None of the manuals that I have found give any clue.Any help would be appreciated.

E D I T to add - the return to block is pressurised in the oilway as the oil pressure switch seems to go into the same oilway close by. Hence my concern.

Thanks - I have that one but it differs from what is on the engine. Mine has a feed (maybe return) coming directly off the oil pump ( cant turn engine over at present to check) to the vacuum pump which then goes to the block. I don't want to just assume that it is a return to the oil pump! I know that from that diagram it is highly likely but would like to be sure.

Are you sure it is a Di not a Duratorque?

Yes definitely Di. It has the correct Bosch pump and injectors for the di. It came off a 2001 ldv convoy council van so would have been made 98/2000ish.

Then that is the lubrication diagram they are only a flow diagram not the actual points it goes to on the engine.

Just cap it , you don't need it.

I know that I don't need it - it is whether the engine needs it!
Found a pic of the innards of the oil pump - and I have just squirted oil in the oil pump connection and it just runs straight through into the block with no restriction and drops into the sump (- I have the sump off now). I am certain now that there is no impediment to blanking them both off and no likelihood of restricting any flow anywhere. Phew! There are no lay-bys at sea so need to get it correct.
