Thinking of double glazing if not to much £. Who thinks it worth it. Have a Devon with single glazing and noisy can't hear anything. Will it work? Come on people. You know!!!!! Have insulated with lambs wool as much as I can an done a grate job. Next is roof vent soon. Maybe new tyres first? How can we talk to our kids over 60. (Miles not clingons).

Hi Da Dan, I don't think double glazing is the answer to your issue with noise. DG will add some thermal value and reduce the amount of window wiping the condensation away in the morning.
My van is dynamat'd throughout, there are other products similar to this, but they have a good product reputation.This had the greatest effect. A recent change form snow and mud tyres also reminded me how much difference they make. It may also be induction noise from the van - what motor do you have? Mines breathes through the original snorkel.. so that helps.too.
Ensuring the door and window seals are all intact too- seen a recent way to check by using a smoke bomb thingy inside the van, closing the doors.and looking for leaks.... from the outside...obviously.
My bus is a diesel.and I'd say it's pretty quiet for a T3,
But comms with the 3rd class passengers can still be challenging...

Tyres, panel vibration (use dynamat or similar product), door seals, insulation - these all help. Do you have a bed mattress over the engine bay?, because that helps. Got anything extra on the outside, like a roof rack? They can be noisy as well. Double glazing may help slightly, but is more about keeping the heat in when you're camping.

Smoke bomb grate idea. Might leave the kids in for that. I

Also just got wheel bearings changed which seems to have made a big difference too. Still need to look into the dynamat though

Agree with above. I can park at a fairly busy camp site and even with loud music outside its pretty quiet inside. Most of the noise comes in via body rather than windows. Even if you can't justify the cost of sound proofing, the ally bubble wrap stuff significantly reduces external noise (thats all I have in mine). I fitted it into panel voids with the odd bit of gaffa tape here and there to keep it in place but it works well. Don't forget engine bulkhead under rear seat - it all helps.
