Hi Again,

The garage now have my 1.7 d KY engine back that's been reconditioned, apparently the other company supply it with all fitting gaskets but one is missing, it's the oval type seal on the engine timing cover and i've attached a photograph and also a parts diagram showing the seal next to my mouse pointer.

I also need the guide pulley in the picture as it's been damaged before and also has a flat spot so could do with being replaced.

I've looked on JK, VW heritage, cool air etc and having no luck, am I man looking or are these two just no longer available?

Anyone? Found a pulley on eBay that needs to come from Germany, so that looks like the only option at the moment!

I can't see your mouse pointer in the exploded diagram, but according to VAGCAT* I think the seal you need is part number N90250201, available from VW Heritage.

The VAGCAT page for the pulley lists it as part number 068115021D, and the only source for this that I can see is that bullishop ebay advert from Germany.

Assume you're talking about a rubber O ring seal here. Used to work for a company doing hydraulics for coal board and if they had trouble finding a seal like that they would offer up a larger dia seal, place a straight edge across block to check for sufficient protrusion then remove seal and cut to required length with very sharp knife and as straight a cut as poss. then superglue ends together. Seemed to work for them...maybe a spot of silicone to hold in position for assembly ?
