Wiper spindle replacement

Hi,

I'm new to the forums, and to the T25 world too.

Unfortunately my windscreen wiper spindle on my 1981 westie (lhd), has stripped. I have a replacement spindle, but I'm wondering, is there any way to replace it without needing to remove the whole dash? That seems like a big job to me and I'm not sure my technical skills are up to it just yet.

Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.

Not doubting you for a second but are you sure it's the spindle and not just the wiper?

I ask this as the spindle is very hard and the wiper is alloy, mine was slipping round and it turned out to be the arm.

The spindle looked stripped but it turned out the splines were full of alloy from the arm, worth a double check.

Usually just a case of cleaning out the splines with a needle. Had to do this myself.

As said clean the splines first,
If you do need to remove the spindles the motor and frame come out from under the dash from the passenger side for both LHD and RHD.
