Child seats

Hello, we are new to the forum and new to the world of T25's, if all goes well, we take delivery of our first ever camper today!! Fingers crossed...

I'm looking for some advice on child seats. My daughter is 3 and into the category 3 full size booster seats, in our boring car we have a maxicosi that fits on a isofix base. This isn't going to be compatible with the rock and roll, but I was wondering if anyone had advice on seatbelt fitted seats for this size, but fitting to the 3 point seatbelt found in the '83 ish yeah vans?

Thank you!

You can buy the isofix brackets to bolt in using the rear seatbelt anchor points already in the van. I think its a F.o.r.d. focus part.
"Bene" in syncro section fitted some to his hitop van iirc

Ich fahre einen Bulli. Ich hilfe mir selbst...meistens!

As Ian says above, I have two of the focus ones in my Devon, copied from "Bene"
They don't interfere with the workings of the bed at all.

No I clipped the Isofix bracket to the seat and slipped it between the base and backrest.
Remove the seat from Isofix and ensure you can still use the bed.
Then drill and bolt up. Just watch you don't drill anything you're not supposed to in the void above the gear box, on a 2wd there's not much apart from insulation.

Thanks for this advice. Do you think you could post a picture of the fixing? I'd like to give it a go, just be a bit more confident knowing what the end product looks like.

Not the best of pictures but it shows where it bolts to, I clicked it onto the seat then squeezed the fixing between the base and backrest till it hit two nice flat sections of the floor to drill.
Then pull off the insulation to install the plate, took about 20 minutes.

That's what I love about forums, haven't bought a T25 yet but when I do I'll be fitting 2 of these to it for my 2 kids.

I had to buy a Ford Isofox bracket to fit to my Focus a couple of years ago, I found out something interesting from a Ford forum at the time. Ford supply the brackets for free with all new Focuses, loose in the boot. The dealer only fits them if the buyer specifies it as an extra. All the rest they remove, keep and sell separately; the scoundrels!

Thanks so much!

I'll be giving this a go in the next couple of weeks.

Seems like a great idea and one I may use. Where does the tether strap/leg go? Did you buy a specific seat that fit your van? I belive there are many different seats for certain cars. Cheers, Jon.

The leg just drops down to the floor as it does in the car, the seat I have didn't have a teather strap fitted.
With the Iso any seat fits with a compatible fixing.
I've had to take the back cushion off the bed to travel but it all un-clicks when you get to where you're heading, and sit the cushion back on.

Hi I also need to fit isofix to my t25 but my isofix Base is different that the one in pictures? The folding seat bed dosent look very strong to fit isofix to it so I was thinking of reinforcing the seat bed and the mounting point on the chassis then welding isofix the seat has anyone tried or done this as this is the only way I think it can be done for me??

From what I understand, the isofix bracket bought off ebay was bolted/welded to the bulk head. The base then just clips to the bracket and simply sits on the seat/bed cushion? That way, the strength of the bed doesn't come into it. Maybe!

I think I know what you mean but definitely worth putting some pictures up. Could be a case that some isofix bases will not fit.
