Possible fuel issue

Hi, I'm having an issue with my air cooled 1.6

I filled up with petrol last week and within half an hour my van started to loose power. I am convinced I may have water in fuel. As it was raining sideways and I drove through some large puddles.
I replaced pump, filter, distributed cap and rotar arm. Still lost power.
I have no facilities to drain fuel tank yet but noticed that pump isn't drawing fuel through very well. Checked all pipes and connections.
Any ideas before I give up and part with cash at mechanics?

Can't help with your problem but if you E D I T your thread title to include 1.6 Aircooled then it might catch the attention of saran or big herb. Extremely knowledgable guys when it comes to Aircooled engines :ok

Water will find the lowest point in the tank.
Was there any water in the fuel filter when you changed it?

Put a bottle of Wynn's Dry Fuel in the tank. If there's water in there it'll sort it. Then sort your breather pipes and filler neck to the tank.
