Just had the gearbox mount changed to a polybush from Brickwerks and the van seems to be a lot quieter its a 1.7d KOMET also no longer have judder when reversing in to our drive. Just wondered if any one else had done this fit and what difference did they find if any.

I had an early one on the Subaru 5-speed. It was better than a split one.

Yes I did it - recently. It does make pulling away more positive (if your CV joints are good) and between gears to some extent, and indeed when engaging reverse. Takes a while to get old one out (plus some swearing) with a hacksaw, but once its out new one takes seconds.

I did mine about six months ago and it's a great upgrade. All the engine and box mounts were original, and after more than 400,000km I thought the van could do with an upgrade so changed the motor mounts for original type rubber mounts and a polybush for the box sent over by Monsieur Baxter. Starting up for the first time after fitting the polybush it seemed a bit too solid with much more vibration inside the van and a slight increase in noise but a couple hundred km later it all settled down and it's now more than acceptable with regard to NVH. (I also appreciate the way that the gear lever no longer moves during acceleration except when I'm shifting gear!)
