Ouch. definately a job for someone with detachable wrists.
Not quite as bad as I thought it would be, but access around the gearbox is poor. I had to get my (fortunately slim) hands in between coolant pipes to get near the parts.
I have access to ramps and axel stands, but as I'm a skinny bugger, I mearly jacked the weight off the suspension and slid underneath,
Part 18 wasnt fitted to my Right hand drive van.
I took off the RHS indicator to give a bit more access around the accelerator pedal.
I found that the transfer lever 19 had worn oval where the throttle pedal lever fited in, I drilled it out by 0.5mm and will see how it goes. Brickwerks want £17 for a new one.
My circlip 20 went ping, and hasnt been seen since. pivot 20 was slightly worn, but I didnt realy need to replace it.
The new cable, from Brickwerks, came compete with guide tube 17 but not the joining piece 6 (this needs sliding along the cable before sliping the new cable through the guide 5)
Getting the old cable to come off the gearbox arm 11 required brute force and ignorance, a large screwdriver and a hammer.
Getting the new cable on required almost superhuman strength, sqeeze between thumb and forefinger in a very tight space.
I Had to remove bracket 15 from the side of the gearbox to remove the bush at the end of guide tube 17 as it had parted company and was corroded to the bracket.
Getting the bellows 16 on to the bush at the end of 17 is almost imossible, I ended up cutting the rubber and using a cable tie as shown in the picture.
