Interchangeable caliper?

Hi,
It seems I have Girling callipers but have accidentally bought ATE. Can I just fit them as I'm fitting both or is there a reason?
Cheers Josh

The calipers are interchangeable as long as you have the brake pad fitting kit with the new calipers if they are the older twin piston calipers.

So previously I bought what I think must be an ATE fitting kit (looks a cross shape and then two pins with black collars) is this correct? Shim wise it's different aswell - I have some of the flat ATE shims with the bendable tabs - should I be bending this inward (towards the piston)? Wish I'd kept it as Girling but as I have already fitted it there is no going back now.

The pins with the black collars fit ATE calipers, Girling pins used a small R clip to stop the pins coming out.
The Cross shaped spring can be used with either caliper.
The Shims have to be the correct ones the ATE ones the pressed out taps have to be fitted so that the taps locate into the cutout in the piston to stop it rotating.

Thanks. With the black collar pins do I just tap then through as it is very tight?
Thanks

Yes they go in from the rear (Brake hose side) the spring collar then grips into the hole.
