short to earth

HI,

so for some time ive had a short to earth reported via vcds on my AGG conversion. additionally i also have a parastic drain on the battery .
This came about after i had mistakenly left the earth lead lose . this resulted in a blown ecu ( now rectified ) and the problem i now seem to have.

So far ive attached the multi meter and can prove that pulling the fuses one by one make no differance at all.
however pulling block B ( red one ) from the rear of the fuse board does .

As this seemed like an ideal time to replace old cables etc, i have so far replaced the main battery to starter cable and the battery to fuse box feed.
when pulling the feed from the battery to the fuse box and then feeding straight from a power pack the short to earth is not there .

this leads me to think that the problem lies at the rear of the van .
the only two items i no off that are connected to the battery and link through to the fuse box are the starter and alternator .
can the starter solenoid go faulty ? and althoguh the alternator works fine, is there anything in it that could cause this .??

its proper buggin me and becuase i have the short to earth i cannot have the AFM plugged in else it detects the short and refuses to run .
with it unplugged it runs fine to 5k revs . but fuel consumption suffers massivley as it runs of the tps sensor .

any idea's .. ????

Jim

Well..disconnect the alternator,it could have a shorted diode/s
