I'm going down the route of vinyl, on 12mm ply (tbc), on kiravans insulation, on silent coat. I think, though this thread may change things...

New flooring is ordered, vinyl stripes and insulation from madmatz.
Will grab some ply from b&q. Have read wiki and taken notes.
Anyone have any other tips?
Will post pic when I've finished(if it looks any good :D )

Will be posting on my main thread but currently (materials bought) 9mm ply - did not go for marine ply as I could not get it and had a time window (which I missed so could have ordered it but saved myself £40).
Under neath ply is Kiravans Thermo acoustic campervan insulation - self adhesive 7mm closed cell foam with foil inner surface. Which I will also use on the some of side panels.
On top I am using Polyflor polysafe standard pur which is an industrial non slip floor 2mm.

This is replacing 10mm chipboard, no insulation and a foam backed carpet. The main issue I have is getting the units to match up to previous tide mark so what I have lost in the foam backed carpet I have added through insulation and will screw the floor down (holes already exist) to take out about a mm. The unknown is the depth of the original carpet - I have the carpet but foam had disintegrated.
Will add colour back with a rug but felt non slip weatherproof vinyl would work best for us.

We had manky old carpet in it when we bought it so that had to go. Replaced it with vinyl flooring but with two terriers in the van I found we were always wiping it clean plus it was always cold under foot. Eventually got an offcut of putting green artificial grass from some of the lads at work who fit it in display areas/shops/bars/gardens etc. Laid it over the vinyl- It's warm to walk on in bare feet, brushes easily and doesn't need mowing

We used large carpet tiles over ply cut to fit exactly. Got a couple spare in case of accidents. They are ungodly tough, warm and sound proof and if fitted well barely show the joints. Most importantly they are warm to the bare feet and slip proof if wetted.

Looking at my bare metal floor at present, I plan on silent coat bitumen pads with kirivans over and a thin ply on top. But I have a lot of screw/bolt holes, and the occasional larger hole. Do I need to get these all welded up?
