Seam sealer reacting with paint

Where have I gone wrong - help please

I painted some seams wth Bonda Rust Primer yesterday.

When I painted on some Upol Grey Stripe Seam Sealer today I got a reaction to the primer. The paint dissolves and leaves a sticky mess when I lift the masking tape.

Do I have to let the primer dry for a few days, which will be a bgr or should I apply an undercoat and seal on that. Or do I now have to strip back.

Thanks

Sounds like the solvent in the seam sealer is dissolving the primer.
That is one of the reasons I used epoxy primer on mine.
You could try a seam sealer with a less aggressive solvent - tigerseal might work.

Thanks. I had epoxy primer on the panels but touched up a few places with the bonda primer and around the cut openings. I need to decide on a painting regime and stick to it - just that sometimes its easier to touch up with a rattle can than to mix up the epoxy and start the compressor but false economy. Have tested the tiger seal and no reaction :D. As you say the seam sealer is quite aggressive.

I have two tins of that grey stripe stuff on the shelf. Tried it once but didn't like it. Tigerseal is more user friendly.
