Hi
The trip-meter on my T25 speedo has stopped working, which in turn has meant that the odometer is no longer recording overall
mileage, so I am looking for:
a) A VW (or speedo) specialist who anyone can recommend might be able to fix mine
or
2) Does anyone have late T25 (1990 - water-cooled) speedo for sale.
In addition, I have never used the fridge in my van (owned for 9 years) but just recently I tried to get it working but the ignition fails
to operate.
And recommendation on:
a) where I can get mine looked at/fixed.
or b) where I can have a replacement supplied and fitted.
Any advice on these two matters would be very much appreciated.

On both issues, have you tried the Wiki (top left) yet? Or tried using the 'search' facility. There have been many threads on this web site covering both matters.
The speedo may be the connection of the cable to the speedo, so it may not be a dodgy speedo at all.
There are a number of reasons that a fridge may refuse to light, it's worth trying some of the usual solutions before taking it to a 'specialist'

The speedo will be the cable snapped. The fridge problem is also more than likely a easy fix, if you know a few tricks

If the speedo is registering speed but not mileage, then wouldn't that suggest cable is ok but the cogs etc that run the trip/odo are slipping? Pretty sure there are threads/wiki entries on how to fix that which is common. I have the early one though so perhaps the issues are different.
The fridge - is it 3 way? Does it work on any mode? (Gas/240v/12v while driving ). If it's just failing on gas, need to check igniter is sparking; and gas is getting through. On mine the gas jet was blocked . If you get the fridge out you can give it a good going over. Imagine you'd be lucky to find anyone willing to service an old van fridge so diy may be the only way, but they're not very complicated.

Thanks mr_nunn
It is a three-way fridge - hardy used, and it seem to the lack of ignition 'spark' that prevents it working.
I have downloaded info. on removing fridge so might have ago at fixing it myself.
I don't want to fit a new fridge as the current one has the original 'wood' effect' door, which matches the rest of the interior cabinets.
Thanks again

Not sure what conversion yours is but i managed to get my Westy fridge out and (eventually) working despite being a novice so would encourage you to have a go. And not much to lose if it's not working anyway.
I had the same dilemma about not wanting to replace the fridge due to a matching wood effect door. One day i may try and upgrade by putting a modern compressor cooling unit in the existing fridge body - as per the thread "weco in a westy".

The spark generator can be tested by removing from its location, holding close to the fridge body and pressing the ignition button. Make sure your hands are out the way as it gives off a fair belt. Ignition end is located at the bottom. White plastic item in the photo
