Rear Light T25

Rear driver's side tail light on a 1980 VW T25 is not working. I have checked the bulb and cleaned out the contacts on both lightbulb and fitting, both are shiney and bright. The opposite side is working fine. I am guessing that perhaps it is a broken wire on the side that isn't working. I had come up with the idea, of taking a new wire from the working side and connecting it via scotch blocks to the non-working side, however for the life of me, I have no idea which wire is the tail light wire. If anybody could tell me which wire counting from top of the plug-in wire connectors to the pcb is the tail light one, I would be over the moon. Or if anyone has any better ideas than me, as to how to resolve the situation, please feel free to impart your knowledge.

Many thanks and keeping dubbing

Jonny

Have you checked the fuses the left and right lights are fused separately, fuses 1 & 2 give them a wiggle if one is not blown.

Scotch blocks.....................noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Yuck, nasty things.
I wouldn't double the current on one wire as VW aren't known for being generous with spare current carrying capacity on their wiring.

'Mean' is the word you're looking for. Thats why I go HD on any new wiring. You should see the thickness of my battery to dash cable now.
