Hi, had a look through various topics on here, but when I am replacing tail gate gas struts, I have locked the gate open, removed the bottom fitting with the cir clip, removed the little pin and clip thing on the gate end mount but still cant get the bugger off.
At this point, should it unclip and how much force should I use? Is there a trick?

the end with the ball is a push on fit ,you may need to unprop the gate and with one hand holding open pull it off reason being you may be propping it too far so a bit up and down to find the spot that the strut seems loose to rotate a bit then away with it , bit of lube on the pin end as these wear a ridge in the pin part,yes they do stick a bit
