Dip Beam Problem

Morning All. Can I seek your best guesses on a headlight problem.
Van is a 1.6 TD (now AAZ) 1986, later style fuse box.

My dip beam has stopped working. Main beam is fine, although it will only flash, not latch on. Side Lights are fine.

Dip Beam fuses aren't blown and are getting 12v. Bulbs meter on continuity as ok.

It doesn't seem that there is 12V on the bulb connector for dip beam.

Is there a relay I'm missing? A connector for the headlamp loom somewhere?
Are the fuses fed before the headlight switch or after it?
Any guesses?

Thanks in advance!

Ian

If you have lost dip and main beam then it is a power supply problem (headlamp flash is from a separate power supply)
First check you have power with the ignition switched on at the black yellow wire going to the light switch.

If your heater blower is not working either then I would suggest your ignition switch may be faulty.

Thanks for all of the advice. I found another article on here that suggested the switches can go bad, so metered that and found the fault! Terminal 56 (headlights) must have gotten a little warm a some point and had melted the plastic around it, letting it sink in and loose connection.

Decided to clean the earth crowns too and solved my intermittent radiator fan troubles too!
