Aircooled t25 not starting

1980 Aircooled t25. Automatic. Karmann Gipsy.
Rebuilt very well 2000 miles ago.
It has always turned over very slowly on the starter motor.
Had an intermittent cutting out so I rebuilt the Solex carbs.
New electric fuel pump and regulator and filter
New plugs leads dizzy cap.
New electric distributor.
Checked earths on dizzy etc
New coil
New battery.
New earth strap on battery.
After all this it was running nice. I drove it up the road and it broke down refusing to start.
I checked all of the above. Put it down to a mistake on my carb rebuild. So obviously I bought a set of weber 40s...
Now installed it's not starting either. Put in the old dizzy. Weak spark at the plugs. Checked timing. It spluttered but no start, even with a bit of easy start. AA man couldn't start it either.
Could it be the starter motor knackered not cranking enough?
Loosing power through the leads to the starter?
Anyone want to come and get it running? Cash waiting. I'm in Sussex near Brighton and have to go back to work and life... Got a camping deadline end of the month.
