Aux belt deflection

Fitting new Aux belt for the alternator, don't have the data for maximum deflection.
Anyone help please as I have reached an impasse!!!!

it's academic because it depends on how hard you push
usually about 10mm is about right

Aye, normal push pressure for me is probably a bit more than average, 10mm, yep, got that and reckon it should be good.
Just charging battery atthe moment to ensure a good starting chance!!!

Just tight enough so it doesn't screech / slip.
How's your head gasket?

too tight will destroy the water pump or alternator bearings, if you have heavy fingers 15mm may be better

Don't yet know about head gasket!
Big start up tomorrow, battery slow charge tonight, we shall see what we shall see!!!!!!
Yep, know about too tight belts so just used same pressure as on other cars and they have all been alright.
Certainly don't want to be sestrying bearings and such like.

Hey keep checking the slack as you travel around, mine went loose and caused me problems many a year ago.
