Wobbly Windows (side)

Both my door Windows wobble from side to side (fore - aft) once the have been wound down, the more they're lowered the greater the amount of 'play'. The regulator bolt at the bottom of the door is tight, the felt pads are in place and yet they wobble. Is this a problem within the regulator? Many thanks.

Have you looked to see if the closed cell foam buffers are still within the door? I have one missing and will need to replace it before I finish my restoration.
If you take the door card off, you should see it just above the lock mechanism. This stops the window glass from moving backwards and forwards when in the down position.
This shows the foam block;
and this shows the window glass sliding past the foam;
Have not had time yet to see if they are still available yet.

Could also indicate wear in the window seal channels up the front and back of the glass.

So THATS what guides the window when its lowered. Thanks woodyyellyow for that. Actually, it doesn't look difficult to cut a new one.

Foam blocks are in place and have just replaced the window seals so it's none of those, many thanks though

I image the felt didn't last long after the bolt fell out.
Sent from my chair in a field.

As I need to make new foam for the O/S, today I removed the one I have to take some measurements.
This is the foam as removed
And here is a quick drawing I’ve made from it, remember that these are the sizes of a 30 year old block of foam and should only be used as a guide!
As for finding the foam to make it from, I would have thought that the type of foam that is sometimes used as packaging around new televisions or the type of foam used in “cut out” protective cases for things like the GoPro.
Hope this helps others, just remember that the drawing shows the N/S foam, you will need to reverse the drawing for the O/S as they are “handed”.
John
ps. Forgot to say that the angle of the slope is 60 degrees.
