Right - has anyone any idea what the connector in the picture should attach to. This is a 2.1 DJ fitted to a syncro.

The only thing I can see in Bentley is a crank case heating pipe - but as you can see this isn't fitted (might be missing).

If anyone can shed some light then I'd be most appreciated. And if it is the crank case heating pipe - will it harm my engine if it isn't fitted - and do i need one?

indeed where that bit of manky pipe is there should be a heater element for that wire to connect to

BTW - I'll have your bush press tools back to you very soon. We've almost finished with them

i've wondered about this before too, sonic23, mine seems to make no difference if i have it plugged in or not,and it never feels warm at any time, so i wonder if it even works.
cant quite see the point of warming up gasses to be sucked back into the engine again that were probably warm in the first place! anyone know what this gizmo is there for? ? ?

You won't feel or notice a difference, the heater is purely there to stop condensation and oil mist hanging around in the the breather pipe and eventually blocking it up.

Thanks Simon, that would make sense, as some engines do seem to get that cappuchino froth type gunk in breather pipes. this pipe has been diverted to the airfilter box on mine, which i assume must be to do with it running on L.P.G. part time.
