Lino and flooring options

Hello there!
I've decided on lino for the living area of the van. Currently it has a bit thick bit of plywood (which I'm guessing is original). Ive taken the carpet up.
My question is what do I need to put between the lino and the current plywood? Would it be advisable to soundproof it and if so what with?
Do I need to attach it to anything else before I lay it and what do I use to stick it down with?
Thanks - I tried to keep that brief!!

Madmatz sell a good line in flooring vinyl and the right adhesive as well, though to be honest, you can buy the same stuff from your local B&Q. You need a reasonable thickness of ply to stick it to, and if you feel the need, you could put some insulation underneath (under the ply, not under the vinyl). If the ply is one piece, then it's not going to move around much, but it would be better if it was screwed or bolted down. Bear in mind that if you make the flooring too thick, you're also going to need a new steel edging strip (Madmatz do them).
Like everything else, it all depends how much you want to spend.

Not cheap but seriously good quality/tough lino and loads of lovely colours.

We went with white and still looks great after 3 years:
How thick is your base? If its not insulated or has any sound deadening now's a good time to think about it. You will notice the difference just in reduction in road noise. Adhesive backed 6mm closed cell foam will block out a lot of noise and you can get it cheap. Or splash out and cover the whole thing with Dynaliner.

Sorry for delay in response - love those colours on the website! A bit too expensive for me, but yes I definitely need to sound proof beforehand as I haven't any soundproofing on that section of the van!

Hi,
Used floor covering supplied by Kiravans.
They use the floor covering for T5 conversions.
we chose a blue with a hint of sparkles, looks similar to non slip, with a slight texture.
Comes in standard widths, and could be bought by the metre length. Seem to remember it was not too costly.
Hope this helps
Graham
