Ive removed all of the westy interior and just in stage of putting it all back together. Previously when I removed the fridge I used gas PTFE on the male thread. This time I was thinking of using the Fernox paste. Just wondering whats the best approach.

Ptfe or any kind of paste ect on the thread will do nothing, that is not where a compression joint seals..
It seals on the olive to to the chamfered edge on the INSIDE edge of the male thread part.
If you use any sealing product be it tape or paste, make sure it is rated for lpg
Tape you would put one wrap around the olive, paste you would put a smear on the chamfered edge referred to above.
