Hello all,
got my trailing arms off, what a fight, turns out one of them has split at the bushing holder - see pic...

I have heard that welding is a no no on these, does any one have an opinion on this ?

Surely if you can get recon arms they must have been welded up around the bushings sometimes.

You know there should be a tube in there to hold the bush in place?

It must have been like that for ages, ever get the feeling you bit off more than you could chew ?

All the time! That swingarm is beyond saving, it will be thin inside too and whats the spring pan like for rust?

Spring pan is non existent, when I took off the spring the locating stump fell on the floor in a big pile of dust, I got new ones but it`s looking like I need new arms instead...

There has bee a ton of rust mainly due to leaking window seals and pop top hinges, must have welded in at least 1/2 square meter of steel so far...

Still it is a 33 year old and I have gone to far to give up now.
