on starting up or stopping abruptly -
(but not when driving)
van makes pop pop pop sounds from the engine/exhaust -
any ideas what this could be peeps? -
and what a 'cure' might be?
I'm thinking - fuel?
but open to all suggestions -
other than - keep off the beans!

No I mean if you decelerate down hill (foot off)
What you describe is similar to running on.
That is caused by poor timing or a leaky anti dieseling valve ( idle speed cut off solenoid)

Poor timing and idle cut off sound very possible suspects -
Thanks for the suggestion Kev
Will have a look at the weekend and see what I find -
Thanks again -

Had the same problem on an old bay I had, turned out to be leaky manifold gaskets.
