Recommend a good garage?

Hi all......
Does anyone know of a good garage that does carburettor tune-ups? My exhaust is burning black and I just want someone to check things out in case the mix is too rich. Don't want to end up with burnt valves. I live in South West London.

cant help with the garage, BUT black says rich, not weak, so pretty unlikley to burn valves.......

Oh......thought black being a sign of over-fueling would increase risk of valve burn. Seems I may have my wires crossed?

Yes.
Plug colour or exhaust colour is no indication of mixture, unless observed after a long run at high speed.
Get your idle speed mixture checked at any garage that does an emissions test
Then post up your results here.

thanks to all for getting back to me. I have found a place relatively close to me called Volkspares. As the name implies, they sell vw parts, but also have a workshop where they carry out servicing and repairs.
