Hi, I have a 1.9dg petrol (1989) T25 hightop, I need to replace the oil pressure switches, just wondering what switches will I need for both switches as there are several on Brickwerks, blue, grey white black, and also is there a special way to get them out ( a certain tool?) as there's not a lot of room to get a socket wrench in? would really appreciate some advice, Thanks

You need 0.3 bar and a 0.9 bar switches.
0.3 is between cylinders 3 & 4
Colours do not matter.
24mm socket.

although its the pressure that is important, getting a switch which is also the right colour does help

Thanks eveyone for your help, thought I would ask on the other post as well!,

well the switches have been replaced with new ones and tested the wires to switches, and buzzer still going off and light flashing, still only happening after being warmed up and driven for maybe 2/3 miles, and goes off sometimes when changinging gear or low revs, has anyone any ideas what I could try next please?

What oil are you using?

hi, its 10w 40, and has new oil filter

I can see small bit of oil on the connecter to the pressure switch by water pump?

are you able to check what the actual pressure is with a gauge?

10w /40 is too thin.
VW recommend 15w/ 40 or better still 20w/ 50 mineral.
Lloydy is right you need a pressure check.

Thanks Lloydy and Kev, will take it in again to get pressure tested, have ordered the the mineral oil , will let you know what pressure is
