exhaust manifold

Hi
Our kid said I should check the manifold (from a JX) as Brickwerx had told him they are prone to warping. When I got around to taking the head off the engine, I found that a manifold nut had come loose and the piston crown seems to have deteriorated, more like a relief map than a machined face. He also said that I should use stainless nuts, as standard ones can't stand the heat, as it were...Any thoughts? Thanks
