had my van booked into Campershack for a couple of jobs including dropping my LPG tank so Andrew could replace all the bushes etc in the gear change mechanism,my god what a massive improvement, I never realised how bad my change was only about half the movement now and going into second is amazing will give it a try tomorrow morning when it is cold as it was always really horrible getting second gear cleanly,highly recommended if anyone is thinking about doing this job

I was going to ask "how much did it cost" but realise that the figure would involve all the removal and replacement of the tank, so only applicable to those with the spare wheel LPG tank installation.

Glad you like it, Gordon. It helps that the van drives so well already, nice perky engine and sure-footed handling, but the refreshed linkage has made a big difference - like driving a new van!
As for cost, I did a few other bits too, so can't just say what the final bill was. Dropping the tank isn't a big job (I would say that, though). The parts were about £120 from BW, but it depends what needs replacing on each van. Allow 3-4 hours for complete job.

Mine is not awful, but it has always been a bit vague and a bit long in the travel. I have got totally used to it, but if Gill ever has to drive the van she doesn't get on very well with it .

Mine doesn't have the spare wheel tank, so a bit easier. I could do it myself, but since moving house I would have to do it at the roadside on my back = not really practicable (especially as I am not as young or supple as I used to be).

The only problem I / we will have is, whilst I don't at all mind travelling the 90 odd miles to Campershack, it's a case of having a crystal ball to hand when it comes to what parts are / are not needed as even with Brickwerks fast delivery, it would mean another day or so in and around Hougham waiting for bits to arrive. Mind you, a couple of sleeps in that area is not a chore

I asked Andrew to replace everything thing as it seemed the easiest thing to do whilst he was there,took it out this morning to try 'cold', from first straight into second gear with no crunching or hesitation,I cannot describe the difference,it has a modern car feel to it,well chuffed after the LPG it is the best thing I have had done to the van

Hill second all of the above. My van drove in like a dog and raced out like a ........you get the gist. A huge improvement.

have no leave passes issued for a long time,wife wants to get me doing jobs I have been putting off for ages as the house is going on the market in the next two or three months,we will be on the move up to Lincolnshire by September,we have given notice to the wheelchair service we work for,so lots to do this year

think i need to get my booked in also but need a new start motor, clutch & the gear linkeage sorting but as mine won't even start i really need to sort the starter motor out
