Just wondering!

Hi all!

I'm after some help with my camper.

I am looking for a decent garage or someone who has the skills.

I live in Ripley, Derbyshire for starters.

E plate hightop autosleeper.

The few issues I have are...

1/ Fridge won't work in gas.
2/ Gas heater won't fire up.
3/ Got a water leak.
4/ Also I would like the electrics looking at as some things run of one battery and other things off the other. Would like a larger leisure battery fitted.

I think that's about it. If anyone can recommend anywhere that would be marvelous.

Sounds like you need a heating engineer, a plumber & an electrician. As an ex heating engineer I may be able to advise on the fridge & heater problems but more info needed on everything really..

I will have to check on that.

I have had it running once. However I can't remember the scenario. It ticks over for a few seconds and then stops.

The propex prob sounds like weak /flat battery, try it after a charge or while on charge, cheers.

What sort of water leak have you got?

Coolant / Fresh Water / door or window seal?

The electrics on an Autosleeper are supposed to run off of different sources. Some people tinker around and alter them, but I'm not sure it's essential. I think the only thing I would have on my wish list is to be able to run the car stereo off of the leisure battery,

I have to keep topping up my expansion tank (very often)

OK well you need to look at the plumbing, from front to back, it's best looked at when the engine is running and up to temp.
Things to check for leaks.
Radiator
Radiator connections at the bottom.
Long pipes under the van.
Engine bay pipework and specifically where they connect to things
Thermostat housing
Coolant tanks (splits)
Coolant sender on header tank (leaks from around sender)
...and finally the head seal on the engine (fingers crossed there for you)

Just an update.

Went to S&C caravans in Ripley.

Fridge fixed electrically and gas.
gas heater fixed (in germany).
12v all tidy, has its own isolation switch and two new batteries.

£800

More than happy!! Highly recommend!
