Engine Break in steps for 1.9L DG, Petrol

Hi all
just curious if VW has a step by step or procedure for breaking in rebuilt engines? I would have normally run it for about 500 miles ,then drop the oil and filter. I'd be driving speeds between 30 -70 mph to work/stretch in the parts and make sure the pistons reach the top of the stroke and not to let it idle for too long, (but that's more from OHC memories than anything else.)
This sound about right?
Cheers

The general rule is not to over rev or labour the engine and if running at contant speed like on a motorway for long periods vary the speeds and pull your foot off the throttle every so often to help lubricate the piston rings.

Thanks Herb, thought as much but it's good to have someone else who can confirm.
