Hi

Any help gratefully received please!!

My van has become harder to start to the point it won't start at all in the past few days!

List of things changed so far: ht leads, caps ,dizzy, ignition coil, fuel filter and checked fuel pump. The plugs were new 2 years ago about 1000 miles. I have also had the carb ultrasonic cleaned twice, and cleaned the little in-line filter too. If I spray fuel straight from the pump into the carb top it starts but won't run for long. Going back just last week it would run ok but as soon as the rpm was lowish it would stop running no matter what I did with the throttle, it would not recover and just stop. Then it would struggle to restart, even after a unsuccessful attempt at a blast down the motorway, its like its running very weak, but now a week later it won't even start at all. I have checked the compression and its 150 psi on three cylinders but 100 psi on the last. It has a had this type of problem before and was seen by several garages, but to no avail. So I changed ht leads, ignition coil, fuel filter and plugs, still not sorted, but then after a month or so it just seemed to work! Last year it ran very well and didn't miss a beat! I have checked the compression and its 150 psi on the cylinders but 100 psi on the last. Any ideas please?

Thank you

Check for distrubutor vacuum leak (suck on pipe)
Is this in the wiki? If not it should be, folks change everything else but always forget how old the (rubberized cloth) diaphragms are now...
