Best exhaust for a 1Y engine

Hi all, could anyone please point me in the right direction of which exhaust is best for a van with a 1Y engine?

Mine has cracked a few times near the main exhaust box, been welded one or twice but now think it may be worth getting something new as the exhaust is pretty old I think.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks, Jon.

I used the one that was fitted to the old CS 1.6d.

Thank you both. I wonder if a new original one is worth getting rather than keep welding this old one.

I have had mine fitted since 2004 and it has been fine.

Mine may be really old or possibly fitted wrong. Will throw some pictures up later. Must be a reason why it's cracking so often!

Here's the offending split. Looks like it's going at the weakest part ie the rusty bit.

Can't see much from that but going from that split - is the silencer mounted directly to the bracket instead of the correct rubber mounts being used like this: (hard to see but is the only pic to hand). It shouldn't be hard mounted to the chassis as something will crack - like that.

I am not too sure about the rubber part but I will check it out tomorrow. Thanks for that :ok

Well I certainly cannot see anything that resembles a rubber/metal bracket.

Could anyone please point me in the direction of where I may buy one from? Save me welding it and it cracking again. Thanks, Jon.

Thanks :ok I'm getting it a bit now! May have to save for a new system. Patch up for now though. I think there's just a piece of steel box section where that rubber/metal bracket should be. Too dark to check now, job for the morning.

Here's a picture from underneath. Is that piece of steel box section with the bolts going through where the rubber/metal bracket should be?

And this what should be in its place?

LHS like this - mount on left of pic.

the insulating rubber mounts go between the plates that are attached to the engine and the plates attached to the silencer.
