Hi can anyone advise please.

We lent our van for someone to live in for about 4 weeks back when we had really bad weather. There was two of them and a dog.
Because they were in it permanent for that time the carpet got muddy and was sodden and then went mouldy. We did think about taking the carpet up and replacing it but it goes under the cabinets. Can anyone suggest a way of cleaning the carpet.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks :ok

Some areas of the carpet my be liftable to the point that you can slip polythene under it before you start. Don't use soap or any similar product unless you can be sure of rinsing it away ideally with a wash and suck machine like the Vax. Otherwise it will just attract more grot. Used without the washer nozzle the Vax can be also used to suck away the water from joint under the furniture. Maybe some Old Folk Nearby will still have one to lend you. Ours was invaluable to our neighbours when their fish tank exploded all over their living room fish, plants, gravel and all!
My Vax just expired after more than 25 years of vehicular and Garage workshop use. You won't get that service from one of these new wimpy battery jobs.
Good luck anyway

Never liked carpet in living area. Vinyl far less hassle to clean (needs a sweep mostly) plus on top I have a smaller military grade rubber matt which I sling outside sliding door when parked.
