managed to aquire some laminate flooring via freecycle, so gonna have a go at fitting it to the bus this weekend hopefully. never done this before, so wondered if any of you had any tips? will have to cut out bit for table base in the middle. not sure if i need anything special underneath? also someone said leave small gaps around edge?? do you start from one side or middle and outwards?
Also how have you guys finished it off near the sliders? have you put some kind of trim there? any pics?

i am planning on laminating the floor in my van, i have a mate who did his bay with laminate last winter and it looks far more superior than my lino.

Make sure you are working on a flat surface! you can get underlay but not really necessary in a van, more down to personal choice and budget!

Start from the outside edge farthes from your sliding door and work back across the van to the sliding door.

Time span for job is about 2 cans of beer

Have seen lots of pictures of vans with laminate floors.

People rarely seem to finish off the edges with some trim though and it looks miles better if you do.

Nice finish when its done properly.

i did mine about 2 years ago i started at the far side and worked my way out to the sliding door make sure you glue all the joints incase of spillages!! as for round the table leg hole take it out then cut round it with the boards then when u put it back in it looks neat as for finishing the edges i used ally angle gives a nice smart finish

if it stops raining ill take some pics for you i think it looks better than lino!!!

I laid 3/4inch ply down to get a nice solid floor surface, ignore the 10mm expansion gap give it 2mm as it doesnt expand that much and for a nice edging strip around the four edges i used 5mm angle ali from B&Q tho the front edge is a lot more hassle to get good but agian B&Q came up trumps with some raduised edge alloy which covers the edge perfectly to a fibreglass cover.

the local sheet metal shop near me made me a s/steel slider edge for a tenner

Today's project was to laminate my floor.
All done in about 5 hours, well just need to trim / seal off edges, I'll post some pics on my site on the next update.

Okay, so the floorling went in yesterday, so today the cab got new carpet (including under the seats and rear foot panel! Tomorrow it all gets stuck down and finished off.

b and q for angle edge and also quadrant same colur as flooring all for a tener seal with silcone round edges for watrproofing mine ahasnt move d a drop expension is under angle at sill lip of about 5-8 mm good luck

Any one have any pics.
I have just removed my seat runners and the original flooring because I could not in 18 months aquire the front floor board that was needed to complete the set.
About ten people have said they have it for sale, only to let me down.
So now I have bit the bullet and ripped it all out.
I could not believe the weight of the runners plus fixings.
The bit I am worried about is getting the edges looking good?
Any help or ideas gratefully recieved.
