Hi,
I have looked on WIKI for the answer to my problem.
I have a VW hight top camper. Water seems to be getting in via the roof guttering.
Its not a huge amount but I expect it will get worse if not treated.
Should i rip out the old seal and replace it or can I just seal over the old?
I also have a similar problem with water coming through roof air vent/skylight.
Can someone also please recommend a sealant for the job.
the van is 1989 G reg
thanks for any advice,
Katie

Clear silicone sealant (RTV) or Sikaflex, silicone available from most DIY places like B&Q. Sikaflex is a professional sealing product used in the car window fitting trade.(and is black)

Dont use silicone sealant it aint good enough--you need polyurethane adhesive sealant--you can buy it from a caravan shop or boat shop---Sikaflex 512 Caravan is good but its expensive about £13 a cartridge--trouble is-unless you can get the van undercover in the warm-this aint the time of year to do it---if yoove got to do it outside start in the morning on a dry day--pull out as much old sealant as you can-dry the area with a hairdryer or fan heater then squirt the new stuff in--warm the cartridge to soften the sealant to make it flow better--the sealant will go off in 2-3 hrs--

Thank you
