Hi all,

I looked on the wiki but there's only one garage listed in Kent, my 1.7d could do with a proper strip down and rebuild I think, does anyone know of any good garages in Kent capable of this?

he's pretty good pulling engines apart (and putting them back together!)

Are you taking the engine out and back in yourself? I use VEGE and they were great, away and back in 4 days. Worth a look on their website

I emailed Vege and they only did a recon replacement at £1675 plus vat with a £500 surcharge plus £120 delivery, this seemed a bit high but then again it seems it's quite a hard engine to find people able to work on them properly!

I was looking to either remove it myself and send it off or pay a garage to do both.

Isle of sheppey is pretty far but so-able for the right price/quality, do you have his details?

yep - its wizard customs, isle of sheppey.

Chaps name is Wayne....he is old school mechanic. Probably won't know your engine by type...but he pulls engines apart, replaces cams' pistons etc etc, so may be worth you having a chat with him.
