rear side window leak

Hi Gang,

Now here is another one for you on a sunday eve. Had a look at the forum, but like to just clarify the process.

My rear side window is leaking, bubbling under (rust oh yes). it runs all the way down the seal, as there is always water underneath the outer bracket for the trailing arm.

I will post pics of the state of the rust...but

If and when I take the window out, and if it's just a case of getting rid of rust without the need for welding, is it quite easy to get the window back in??

What do I need?? This is the seal I presume, which is £15 cheaper than JK;

https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/t3-parts/t ... -rear.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Do I need anything else?? sealant?? or do I also need these...Diamond Lacing Tool???

Hope you guys can point me in the right direction..

Thanks all

all you need is a seal dont use krappers nor schofields unless they are vewib and some cord, (about 3mm dia) i use a length of washing line with a wire insert, never snap :lol: 2 minute job to reift but you could do with someone on the outside to hold the glass to the opening,

MM is right - it is an easy job. Have a look at the video on this blog entry from Campervan Culture - it shows you exactly how to do it (http://campervanculture.com/2011/05/fit ... indscreen/). I replaced the tailgate window last week and it was indeed a 5 minute job.

You guys make it sound easy. Lets hope it is.

Just to clarify, do I need to put any sealant in there also??
